Community platform
IGM offers its second generation mobile VAS through a virtual community and social network called 8288 mParty. This platform provides users with a real-time connectivity to other community members and can be accessed directly through a mobile phone. It is easy-to-use and comprises the following services:
·Mobile Instant Messaging (MIM) boasts features such as the custom 'buddy' lists with real-time status and alerts as well as an off-line message box. The Group has developed a loyal customer base which comprises approximately 3.3 million active users that have generated more than 20 billion SMS messages over the past three years.
·User-created chat rooms tailored to specific interests such as football or alumni networks;
·community member matching services enabling members to create and search individual profiles for chatting and dating. IGM also facilitates anonymous member matching based on users' interests and preferences.
Users can register for 8288 mParty via SMS, WAP, IVR or 3G video call and are able to access this community through SMS, MMS, WAP, IVR and 3G video calling.
The existing 8288 mParty technology infrastructure is capable of supporting 15 million mobile users and 1.5 million members online at the same time. These capacities can be increased by upgrading the hardware infrastructure installed within the Mobile Network Operator's data centre.
Content and applications
In-house developed info-tainment is delivered directly to the mobile phone via the Group's mPortal content delivery service. Based on users' interests and preferences, mPortal supplies a wide range of content and applications to community users (8288 mParty) by using sophisticated data analysis tools.
